PERIMATE™ DI-AP ensures continuity of insulation through ship-lapped edges, ideal for external insulation of basements. The vertical channels cut into the face of the board facilitate drainage and soil particles are prevented from blocking the channels by geotextile bonded to the board’s outer surface.
Due to its excellent thermal insulation characteristics, high compressive strength and waterproofing layer, it also ensures efficient thermal insulation and protection of the insulation material.
To prevent thermal bridging, install PERIMATE™ boards with ship lapped finishing, with closed gaps so that the drainage channels are vertical, and the arrows painted on the geotextile point upwards. The thermal insulation boards should be fixed by gluing pointwise or in strips to the insulation of the perimeter wall of the cellar against soil moisture or to the watertight concrete wall of the cellar.
The filter gravel bed of the horizontal drainpipe should provide 10 to 15 cm of cover up to the vertical drain surface, and the filter gravel layer should be separated from the soil to be backfilled.
The openings of the top of the vertical channels can be filled with bituminous adhesive to prevent impurities from getting into the water drainage channels.
It is advisable to refill with soil as soon as possible, applying compaction after each layer.
It is recommended that PERIMATE™ boards are glued using a PUR adhesive foam. The adhesive should be applied in vertical strips at about 25 cm intervals with at least three strips on each board.
PERIMATE™ boards can be easily and accurately cut by manual tools, using a sharp knife for thin boards and cutting the thicker ones by handsaw, electric circular saw, jigsaw, alligator saw or hot wire cutter.
The permanent application temperature of PERIMATE™ products is. 75°C maximum. At higher temperatures, the boards will start to soften and suffer permanent deformation.
PERIMATE™ contains an ecologically safe flame-retardant additive, as a result of which they will be self-extinguishing under their ignition temperature. They will, however, burn if exposed to an intensive ignition source.
PERIMATE™ products are compatible with commonly-used construction materials that don’t contain solvents or softeners (bituminous components without solvents, water-based wall protecting materials, lime, cement, masonry mortars and plasters, anhydrous gypsum etc.).
Certain organic materials, such as solvent-based wood preservatives, paint additives, solvents (acetone, ethyl acetate, kerosene, gasoline etc.) will cause softening, shrinking and damage to the material.
For gluing, solvent-free adhesives must be used. Follow the supplier’s guidance.
PERIMATE™ products must not be exposed to permanent intensive direct sunlight
